There are many reasons for the water leakage of the pump,mainly because the mechanical seal leaks.
Mechanical seals are also called end seals. The pump has a pair of end faces that are perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The end face is kept in conformity with the other end by the cooperation of the auxiliary seal under the action of the fluid pressure and the compensation of the mechanical external elastic force. And slide relative to prevent fluid leakage.
The reasons for the water leakage of the pump mechanical seal are as follows:
Reason 1. The pump is running without first filling the pump with water during the test run. Or run out of water during use.
Inspection method: Disassemble the pump for inspection.Observe and check the mechanical seal damage.
State characteristics: There are cracks in the moving or stationary ring of the mechanical seal or signs of melting of the rubber seal.
Treatment: Replace the mechanical seal and cultivate the correct method of operation.
Cause 2. The machine seal is installed too tight or too loose.
Inspection method: Disassemble the pump and observe and check the mechanical seal damage.
State characteristics: the wear surface of the mechanical seal and the stationary ring of the machine seal has partial grinding or wear marks (only semi-circular parts) or dirt to draw some lines (circumference) on the two friction surfaces. Generally, if the pump is leaked, it is only the debugging operation. There may be no friction or scratch on the two friction surfaces of the moving and static rings. Check that the spindle is moving a lot.
Treatment method: Check the dynamic and static rings of the machine seal. If there are no grinding or scratches, you can re-install the adjustment. If the moving and stationary rings of the machine seal have been worn or scratched, replace the new machine seal. Check if the length of the bushing meets the requirements, or if the seal of the machine-sealed wave tube or O-ring is too loose, too large, and out of specification. Check why the spindle is moving too much. Bearing damage, replacement of bearings; bearing gland, suspension, spindle and other related dimensions have errors, replace parts with poor size.
Reason 3. The liquid contains particles
Inspection method: Understand the liquid condition (with or without debris, etc.). Remove the pump and check to check the mechanical seal damage.
State features: There are debris in the pump seal cavity, or sediment or welding slag. Damage to the machine seal (liquid tube damage or static ring, moving ring friction surface wear).
Treatment method: There are debris, welding slag or sedimentin the pump chamber and the sealing chamber, which will cause damage to the machine seal and the machine seal must be replaced.
Reason 4. The selection is not correct (the machine seal that is suitable for the use condition is not selected according to the use requirements, especially the environment for conveying the corrosive liquid).
Inspection method: Learn more about pumping liquid composition, temperature, and corrosion. Remove the pump and check to check the mechanical seal damage.
State characteristics: seals such as wave tubes are deformed,deteriorated or melted. The friction surfaces of the moving and stationary rings may have abrading (especially for long periods of use, and short time does not necessarily mean grinding).
Treatment method: Re-select the machine seal suitable for the use condition according to the temperature, composition and corrosiveness of the liquid.
Reason 5. The quality of the machine seal itself
Inspection method: The main key size of each part of the pump inspection machine is sealed to see which parts are unqualified.
State feature: When the spring is deformed, the spring end is placed on the platform surface, and the other side of the spring has a large difference. Apply some clean red dan to the matching surfaces of the moving and static rings. Put the two mating surfaces together, turn it with a little forceby hand, and grind it a few times, then separate it and check if the contact between the two planes is good. If it is bad, there will be some on the plane.Local contact, some still do not touch the red color. The moving and static rings are matched with the same material, and the contact surfaces of the two friction surfaces are too large, causing the moving and static rings to be bonded together.
Treatment method: If there is a part to be replaced, it will be replaced immediately; if there is no replacement part, the whole set will be replaced.
